Custom Metalwork
A sculptural fireplace. A fire pit that brings people together. A mailbox that feels like it belongs to the house. Custom metalwork gives everyday objects a presence of their own, with forms and details developed around the place they will become part of.
Custom metalwork studies
Fire, form, and a sense of place.

A classic silhouette. An earthy finish.
A freestanding conical fireplace imagined in a muted mushroom-taupe finish, with slender legs, a long flue, and a quiet presence in the courtyard.

A hearth shaped by the whole room.
Slender brick, a long hearth, warm walnut, and custom bronze details bring a new fireplace into conversation with mid-century design.

A place to gather after dark.
A low steel bowl and an open courtyard, shaped around conversation and the changing light.

A considered arrival.
Weathered steel, a recessed charcoal mailbox, and cut-out address numbers bring a sculptural presence to the entry. A custom piece imagined in conversation with the house and landscape.

Fireplaces, mantels, and the heart of a room
A fireplace can give a room its center of gravity. We explore mid-century-inspired hoods, surrounds, hearths, and mantel compositions with attention to the silhouette, the space around them, and the way they relate to the house. Metal, stone, and wood can each contribute to the whole, with the fireplace system and fabrication developed alongside appropriate specialists.
Fire pits and outdoor gathering places
An outdoor fire pit can become a natural place to settle in as the light changes. Low bowls, sculptural forms, and more architectural compositions can be explored around the courtyard, seating, planting, and views. We develop the design direction with fabricators and installers so the piece belongs to its setting.
Mailboxes with a point of view
A mailbox is one of the first things you see when arriving home. We welcome custom designs for mailboxes, address markers, and entry details inspired by the clean lines and thoughtful proportions of mid-century modern design. Shape, finish, lettering, and the relationship to the house are considered together.
Screens, gates, and garden details
Metal can frame a view, define an entrance, or create a little privacy while leaving room for light and air. We explore screens, gates, planters, bench frames, and details that connect with the surrounding landscape. Geometric patterns can echo a breeze-block wall or become an original idea of their own.
From a sketch to a fabricated piece
Bring a reference, a rough sketch, or a problem you would like to solve. We can develop proportions, visual studies, and a shared direction before working through the piece with a fabricator. Finish samples, prototypes, or digital models can help refine the idea, with scope and responsibilities agreed around the project.
Open to collaboration and experimentation
We welcome collaborations with metalworkers, artists, designers, and clients who have something unusual in mind. A small custom detail can be as rewarding as a larger installation. The aim is a piece that feels considered, useful, and right for its place.
